Objective of the Game
The objective of Baccarat is to successfully predict whether the player's hand will get closest to 9 points, the dealer's hand will get closest to 9 points or the game will result in a tie. You do not receive any cards, or play against anyone. All number 10 and picture cards count as 0 and aces count as 1. The winning hand is the hand with the highest points.
How to Play
Baccarat is one of the oldest casino games and has a certain amount of glamour associated with it. In reality the game is very simple and we have outlined some of the basics of Baccarat to help you win the game:
1. You have to decide whether to back the dealer or the player to get nearest to a total of 9.
2. Or, you can back the game to end in a tie. The possibility is low you win eight times your stake if you are correct.
3. If the points of cards in hand are total 10 or more, simply deduct 10. For example, a 7 and a 7 = 14 but the Baccarat point value is 4.
4. Under certain circumstances a third card is dealt when:
a) the first 2 cards points value equals 0 – 5, players get the third card;
b) first 2 cards points value equal 0 – 2
c) or total 3 points unless the player's total is 8
d) or total 4 points unless the player's total is 0, 1, 8 or 9
e) or total 5 points unless the player's total is 0, 1, 2, 3, 8, or 9
f) or total 6 points unless the player's total is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9, bankers get a third card.
5. The banker always stands on a total of 7
6. The player always stands on a total of 6 or 7
7. The game ends when either the player or the banker gets total 8 or 9 with their first 2 cards.
